Cookie Policy
Which cookies we use on yourbrandcover.com, why we use them and how to change your choice. Last updated October 2026.
Essential cookies are always on. Marketing cookies are only used if you accept them, and you can change your mind at any time.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, like the browser storage we use to remember your quote, work in much the same way, so this policy covers them too.
2. Your choices
- When you first visit, we ask whether you're happy for us to use marketing cookies. Nothing that needs your consent is set until you say yes.
- You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or the button above. If you switch marketing cookies off, we stop using them and delete the ones set on our site from your browser.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the site, such as getting a quote, may not work. The Information Commissioner's Office explains how.
3. Essential cookies
These keep the site working and secure, so they don't need your consent.
| Name | Set by | What it's for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
ybc_consent_marketing | Your Brand Cover | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected marketing cookies. | 6 months |
ybc.* Browser session storage for your quote and chat | Your Brand Cover | Keeps your quote, sign-up progress and chat conversation as you move between pages. | Until you close the tab |
__cf_bm And similar security cookies | Cloudflare | Cloudflare hosts our site and protects it and our forms from bots and abuse, including with Cloudflare Turnstile. | Set by Cloudflare |
See Cloudflare's cookie policy for the cookies Cloudflare uses.
4. Marketing cookies
We only use these if you accept marketing cookies. They help us understand which adverts and partner links bring people to us, and let Meta (Facebook and Instagram) measure our adverts and show you more relevant ones.
| Name | Set by | What it's for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
ybc_attribution | Your Brand Cover | Remembers the advert, campaign or partner link that first brought you to us, so we can credit the right partner and see which adverts work. | 90 days |
_fbp | Meta | Lets Meta recognise your browser so it can measure our Facebook and Instagram adverts and make the adverts you see more relevant. | 90 days |
_fbc | Meta | Stores the reference from an advert of ours you clicked, so a later purchase can be linked to it. | 90 days |
ybc.metaJourney Browser session storage | Your Brand Cover | Records which advert-measurement events have already been sent during your visit, so none is sent twice. | Until you close the tab |
ybc_meta_test | Your Brand Cover | Used only by our own team when testing advert measurement. It isn't set during normal visits. | Until you close your browser |
Meta may also use cookies on its own websites, such as facebook.com, if you use them. Meta's cookie policy explains how.
5. What we share with Meta
If you accept marketing cookies, we use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API to see which of our adverts work. We share:
- the pages you visit on our site, with technical details such as your IP address and browser type;
- the steps you take in our plan builder (opening it, reaching the details and Direct Debit steps, and buying a plan) with the plan you chose, its monthly price and the number of appliances. We never share your bank details;
- when you buy a plan, your email address and phone number in a scrambled (hashed) form, so Meta can match the purchase to an advert you saw.
We send this from your browser and from our servers, so it's still counted if your browser blocks the Pixel. Meta uses it as described in its privacy policy. If you reject marketing cookies, we don't share any of it.
6. Analytics without cookies
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and check how quickly our pages load. It doesn't use cookies or identify you.
7. Reviews from Trustpilot
Our review scores are shown in a widget provided by Trustpilot and loaded from Trustpilot's servers. Trustpilot's cookie policy explains any cookies it uses.
8. Changes and questions
We'll update this page if the cookies we use change. If you have a question, call us on 0800 023 9900 (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm) or email [email protected]. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data more generally.
